Renewal of my strength from God

August was quite busy for me. I think August might be the busiest season for my job. I was involved in planning two big events with IFI, Welcome Picnic and Welcome Party.

I never participated in these two events before so I was almost blind planning these events. With the date becoming closer and closer to the event, I became more and more panic because I feel like I can’t finish my tasks. The week before the Welcome Party I couldn’t fall asleep because I felt lots of pressure. However, I know that it is God who does the work, not me. So I prayed a lot to God. I prayed that God can give me strength. I also prayed that God can help me depend totally on him. In the end, for me, the events went really well. I’m very thankful that I got lots of help. I also want to say “great job” to myself, because I enjoyed the feeling of working on a project this hard. It’s been a long time since I last worked this hard. Usually, at school, I only put 30%-40% of effort to study, which is not good. In the future I want to treat everything I do sincerely.

After the events, I went back to East Lansing, Michigan to visit my old friends. I’m glad that Phil gave me a few more days of vacation. I stayed at the house of Kim and Rod, who hosted me during my last semester of college. I also saw lots of my old friends and visited some of my favorite restaurants as well as Bubble Tea places. Moreover, I stopped at Ann Arbor to visit my old high school friend. It was so good to see her.

Finally, here are some of my prayer requests:

  1. I pray that I can have more faith in God.
  2. I pray that I can have a habit of individual quiet time with God
  3. I pray that I can better reach my family with the love of God
  4. I pray for God’s plan for me regarding my ministry this semester as well as my career after I go back to my home country

Thanks!
